Feed Hoppers Application

DSI has successfully controlled dust in a variety of port material handling operations, coal power plants, biomass facilities, and aggregate-sand plants. One common application is Feed Hoppers for reclaiming materials from storage buildings and piles or bringing in new material to the plant via ship or trucks. Sometimes the material may be hazardous and cannot enter the water or port storm-water drain system. Cleaning up dust generated from these operations to prevent this can be very costly and time consuming. If the dust can be contained within the material handling system, a facility can come into compliance, reduce operating cost and increase plant personnel safety.

Dust suppression on feed hopper at marine and rail terminal

Dry Fog™ and NESCO spray Systems can help contain dust generated from loaders, trucks dumping into hoppers, clam shell loaders, and conveyors sending material to hoppers. If the hopper is in the open, Dry Fog™ and NESCO spray systems can be combined with DustTamer™ Wind Screens to reduce the effects of ambient wind and to help trap dust generated from the displacement of air from the hopper.
